About me / Professional approach
Psychologically trained, present, and respectful
About me
I am a trained psychologist from Aarhus University (2010), a licensed psychologist, and a Specialist in Psychotherapy with Adults. I have completed the theoretical component of the supervisor training programme as well as supervision of supervision.
I have many years of experience from psychiatric services, including the treatment of, among other, anxiety disorders, affective disorders, and PTSD, as well as the assessment of ADHD and autism spectrum conditions. I also have extensive experience with both individual and interdisciplinary supervision, most recently within specialised services for people with intellectual disabilities.
Clinical experience
Specialised work with ADHD, autism, and anxiety
I have more than 10 years of experience working in psychiatry in specialized teams for assessment, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders, as well as several years of experience from an anxiety clinic.
This experience has given me a solid clinical perspective on complexity, including the significance of comorbidity and the need to assess symptoms within a broader psychological and psychiatric context. In therapy, this involves careful attention to differential diagnostic considerations and to how different conditions may overlap and influence one another.
The focus is not on diagnoses in themselves, but on creating a nuanced and professionally grounded understanding of the individual’s situation, providing a safe and well-qualified foundation for the therapeutic work.
Professional approach
A safe and confidential therapeutic space
I place great importance on creating a safe and confidential space where there is room for reflection and for working with what may feel complex or vulnerable. My approach is characterized by calm, presence, and respect for each individual’s pace and boundaries.
My approach is based on psychological expertise and many years of practical experience. My methodological approach is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), combined with knowledge from neuropsychology and neuroeducation. Depending on your needs, elements from other theoretical approaches may also be incorporated.
